Here you will find a list of Iris Textile’s frequently asked questions; answers do not pertain to any particular order and are true for ALL rounds. The term "XYZ" is used in this doc to represent EVERY fabric or round. If you have a question regarding your specific order that is not answered here, please PM an admin; admins are listed below.

** Preorders are announced within the group. Please follow the photo albums in the main group for dates. We also change the group banner to reflect upcoming rounds. Preorder turn around time is 10-12 weeks from the end of the round with up to 2 additional weeks needed for processing

** Retail is ran intermittently between rounds and is announced in the main group with at least a 2 days notice. Retail turnaround time is 7-10 business days and all retail sales are final.             

I ordered during X preorder. When can I expect to receive my order?

The stated turnaround time for each preorder is 10-12 weeks from the end of the round with up to 4 additional weeks needed for processing. Once the round ends we have to submit the order to the printer, wait for it to be printed, have it shipped to us, and then start processing before it can be sent to customers. Round updates are posted to round photo albums.

 How much do products cost?

Iris Textiles will focus on providing vinyl fabric, charms (both acrylic and enamel), and webbing. Turnaround time for preorders is up to 14 weeks and for retail is 7-10 business days.

The repeat will be no more than 10”. 18” rolls are recommended so that the entirety of the tile can be featured on products.

Shipping

Iris Textiles items will ship based on weight. Cost will be calculated at checkout but there may be instances in which additional shipping is owed when a large number of roll (over 16 rolls) are ordered and multiple boxes are needed.

  • How many rolls fit in a package?
    • 4 rolls fit in a “small” box (4x4x16 or 4x4x20)
    • 9 rolls fit in “medium” box (6x6x17 or 6x6x20)
    • 16 rolls fit in a “large” box (8x8x17 or 8x8x20)

Shipping is offered via UPS or USPS. Please make sure to use the drop down on the checkout page to select the appropriate shipping method. For international customers, brokerage or duty fees may apply and are the responsibility of the receiver.

Product Details (Please see the Solids and Basics Info Doc for more information)

Vinyl: The width of the vinyl is 51”-52”. It is sold by the roll only. Multiple rolls ordered will not be continuous.

  • TEXTURED front has a textured front, woven back, and is 1mm thick. It is 51”-52” wide and is much lighter than the smooth front option. The coloring between the textured front and the smooth front is different because of the way the material takes the dye. The crispness on the textured front is less than the smooth front. It is also slightly stiffer than the smooth front.
  • HEAVY SMOOTH front has a smooth front, woven back, and is 1mm thick. It is 51”-52” wide and is a very heavy vinyl but is still pliable and the images are crisp. It is best used on a semi industrial or industrial machine.
  • LIGHT SMOOTH has a smooth front (with minimal texture), a woven back, and is 1mmthick. It is 51”-52” wide and is about the same weight as the textured option. This base works well for domestic machines. It is not as heavy duty as the heavy smooth option and has its limitations. It is best used in interfaced projects and projects with a lessor amount of layers.
  • GLITTER is a non-custom/non printed coordinating vinyl and several bases are offered. It is .9mm – 1.1mm thick, is 51”-52” wide, and is about the same weight as the glow vinyl base. The backing is either knit or woven.
  • GLOW: It has a smooth and matte front with a felted back and is lighter in weight than the smooth front base. It is 1mm thick. It passed the tear test. It does have some give/stretch, is very pliable, and can be interfaced. Due to the pliability, it has a propensity to crease but it can be pressed. The printing process is different from the smooth front vinyl and so the color saturation is different in order for it to glow. The pricing for the GITD is the same as the smooth front
  • COLOR CHANGE: This base is very similar to the glow base. It has a smooth and matte front and a felted knit back. It is very light and pliable. It is 1mm thick. Due to the pliability, it has a propensity to crease but it can be pressed. The printing process is different from the smooth and textured front vinyl and so the color saturation is different. The pricing is the same as the other bases. *Important disclaimer on the color change. As with any product that has direct exposure to the sun the effects will lesson over time. Direct exposure for more than 6 hours consecutively may permanently change the color effects. *
  • Clear PVC is a transparent plastic that is 20 gauge/.5mm thick and 47”-48” wide. It is printed with UV technology using special inks and UV lamp. This is a sticky base. An important note is that it is not suitable for water. We have tested it and when soaked in water (submerged all the way) it will flake off. I have gotten it damp and sprayed it with water and blotted it dry and it did just find and didn’t flake off. Once submerged it will. The clear PVC will be sold by the roll in 13” or 18” increments. Multiple rolls ordered will not be continuous.
  • Clear TPU is a transparent plastic that is .4mm thick and 48” wide. It is more pliable than the PVC and has less structure. It is also slightly stickier than the PVC.
  • Water resistant canvas:
    • Structured: This base is 100% polyester, has structure, is .4mm thick, weighs 7.1oz per 18” roll, behaves like woven in that there is some fraying on the edges, and is, of course, water resistant. Water beads up and rolls of but with pressure will get wet. Coloring will differ on this base to other bases as the printing process is different and the fabric takes dye differently. It will be sold in 18"x54" rolls only.
    • Silky: this base is 100% polyester, is less structured, is .5mm thick, weighs 6.7oz per 18” roll, and has a coating on the back. Water beads up and rolls of but with pressure will get wet. Coloring will differ on this base to other bases as the printing process is different and the fabric takes dye differently. It will be sold in 18"x54" rolls only.

Acrylic charms are generally 1”x1” (sometimes the width will not be 1”) and are topped with a 7mm clasp. The image is double sided and the charms come with a protector film. They will be sold in lots of 2 grouped as shown in the photo album.

Enamel charms/zipper pulls are zinc alloy, nickel plated, and double sided

Enamel pins are approximately 1.5”x1.5” and are backed with 1 or 2 butterfly clutches. The material is zinc allow and the plating will change based on the design but will be either nickel or black nickel. The back is sand blasted.

Webbing. The webbing is a double sided polyester webbing that is 1.5mm thick and 1” wide or 1.5” wide. It has a smooth hand feel. Multiple yards will be continuous. Each quantity ordered equals 1 yard. 1 yard is 36” x 1”

How do I know if my order went through? I don't remember what I ordered; can you tell me? Did I order from "XYZ" round?

If you logged in to your Shopify account when ordering, you can check your previous purchase(s) on the site. For members that checked out as a guest, you may also create a Shopify account with the email used to make the pre-order or retail purchase; the order history for that email address will automatically populate to the new account.

I forgot my password; how do I reset it?

Passwords can be reset on Shopify on the account login screen.

I moved and need to change my address; how do I change it?

When you place a pre-order, the address loaded into your Shopify account will “stick” to that pre-order, even if you update your address in Shopify. You can update the shipping address on any order that is “unfulfilled”. Log into the Iris Textiles Shopify site, click on the particular order, and then click on change address.

Do you ship outside of the USA? How much is it to ship to...?

Yes! We do ship internationally. Shipping is calculated based on weight. Please note that if your order more than 16 rolls additional shipping may apply. USPS and UPS are courier options. Please select the appropriate one you’d like to use. Brokerage or duty fees may apply and are the responsibility of the customer.  

My shipping label was printed X number of days ago & isn’t moving. What’s up?

Labels are printed in batches. It would be untimely and inefficient to print one label, pack that order, and then move on to printing the next label. Batch shipping helps expedite the packing process and it is normal for a label to be printed and show no movement for up to a week or more.

I received my order but there is an error and/or flaw. How do I contact Iris Textiles to get this resolved?

Please reach out within ***7 DAYS*** of receiving your fabric. Please note that washing or altering the fabric voids the flaw policy. Please see the “Flaw Policy” in the files for more info.

Will there be retail available of "XYZ" fabric?

Yes! Retail will be available intermittently with the goal to have retail listings always available down the road.

When will retail for "XYZ" round be available?

Retail yardage for each print from each round will be available for purchase AFTER all pre-orders, both domestic and international, have been shipped to members. Announcements regarding retail stockings will be made on the group's wall.

What is my tracking number for my purchase?

Once there has been an announcement that ALL purchases from a round or a retail stocking have been shipped, please check your Shopify account that you used for purchasing for tracking information. Shopify will send an email once tracking information has been provided for an order. If you do not receive an email from Shopify, please check your trash or spam folder. If the announcement has been made that all have shipped AND none of these options provides you with information to track your package, please PM an admin. Admins are listed above.

Can I combine my retail stocking order purchase to save on shipping?

No, separate retail orders do not combine.

Do you offer layaway?

Layaway is not offered but ShopPay Installments and PayPal pay in 4 are offered where available.
